What is Potential Kin Online Search?
The Potential Kin Online Search feature, powered by Thomson Reuters Risk & Fraud Solutions, allows agency workers to search online and public databases for someone's personal information, contact information, and relatives or associates directly inside of Binti.
How do I begin a Potential Online Kin Search?
You may begin a search one of two ways: via the Relationships dashboard or the Children & Youth menu on the navigation bar.
- From any page, click the Children & Youth menu button on the navigation bar, then select "Potential Kin Online Search".
or - Navigate to the Relationships dashboard for a child, locate the individual you would like to perform a search, click the three dots (
) under the Actions column and select "Launch Potential Kin Online Search".

Begin a search from the Children & Youth menu
When you begin a search from the Children & Youth menu, you will be redirected to a page where you can enter details about the person you are searching for. You must provide at least two or three pieces of information for the search to be conducted. If there is insufficient information, the system will prompt you to provide more details. A checkbox for flexible search is available if you are unsure of the exact spelling, allowing the system to search for people with similar-sounding or similarly spelled names.
Begin a search from the Relationships dashboard
When you begin a search from the Relationships dashboard, you will be automatically redirected to the search results for the person you selected.
What information can I find using Potential Online Kin Search?
For convenience, Binti will display only the most relevant details to a family finding search, reducing dozens of pages into one. A full version of the search report is made available for download and automatically saved if you choose to link that person to a child.

Provides full name and any aliases a person is associated with. |
| Date of Birth and/or Death |
Provides the date of birth and death (if applicable) |
| Social Security Number | Provides full social security number. This is hidden by default and must be toggled to become visible. |
| Addresses | Provides all potentially current and historical affiliated addresses. |
| Phone Numbers | Provides all potentially affiliated current and historical phone numbers and categorizes them if possible. |
| Email Addresses | Provides all potentially affiliated email addresses. |
| Social Media Links | Provides all potentially affiliated social media links. |
| Risk Flags |
Provides potential risk flags affiliated with a person, identified and noted using Thomson Reuters CLEAR. |
| Potential Kin |
Displays potentially affiliated kin of the person you conducted a search on. You may choose to conduct a search on these kin or link their basic data (name, address, phone, email) without conducting another full search. |
