Overview
An application's status can be changed on the View / Change Application Status page. This page can be accessed in two ways:
- Via the Caregiver Dashboard page: hover over "Actions" for the desired family, and select "View / Change Applications Status" from the dropdown menu.
- Via the navigation buttons at the top of any caregiver-specific page.
Note: Only certain workers are allowed to change an application's status. If you don't have access to any of the steps outlined in this article, you'll need a Supervisor to modify the status on your behalf.
Note: If an applicant/family needs to go back through the application process from scratch you will want to create a new intake for them and not just change the application status of the existing application.
Once an application has been approved and is in renewal (in renewal process), you cannot change the status back to applying. If you need to move a family in renewal back to applying you should create a new intake for them. If the family was never supposed to be in renewal please reach out to Binti support by typing Talk to a Human in the chat widget.
Change the status of the correct application
Each approval cycle for a family is considered its own application, and will have its own Applicant Data, View / Change Application Status and Documents pages. Make sure you are on the correct application before making status changes.
There are two ways to determine which application (initial approval or a subsequent renewal) you are viewing:
- Via the information fields in the top left of any family-specific page. This lists the template (Initial or Renewal) and the approval date, if applicable:
- Via the "Other applications for this family" section, which is found below the "Application Info" section on the Applicant Data page:
Status Options
There are "open" and "closed" statuses in Binti. If an application is set to a closed status, the applicant will not be able to access their Binti portal. Here is a list of statuses that you can change or log in Binti.

How do I change the status of an application?
If you want to log the status for a case:

- Navigate to the View/Change Application Status page for the family
- Select the desired status from the "Update status to" dropdown
- Enter any requested information - such as date, explanation, etc
- Click "Update Status" to save your changes
