How do I approve an application?

Approving an Application

You can approve a home via the View/Change Application Status page.

    1. Navigate to the View/Change Application Status page for the family.
    2. Select "Approved" from the "Update status to" dropdown.
    3. Enter any requested information - such as date, explanation, etc.
    4. Click "Update Status" to save your changes.

 

Approval Overrides

If an application with incomplete requirements must be approved, contact a worker at your agency who has approval override permission.

Note: The Applicant Data column in the Progress Panel must have a green completion icon before an override can be performed. This information is found on two different pages:

Found on the Edit Application page:

  • Primary language
  • Number of "other adults" in the home
  • Household capacity
  • Approved age range
  • Availability for community placements (if the applicant is a relative/kin)
  • Medical training status
  • Address

Found on the Applicant Data page:

  • Email address
  • Phone number

 

 

To override an application's approval requirements

    1. Verify that the Applicant Data column in the Progress Panel is showing a green completion icon. If not, answer the required information found on the Edit Application page and the Applicant Data page.
    2. Navigate to the View/Change Application Status page for the family.
    3. Select "Approved" from the "Update status to" dropdown.
    4. Enter any requested information - such as date, explanation, etc.
    5. Click "Update Status" - you'll be asked for additional information explaining the reason for the override.
    6. Click "Update Status" again to finalize the approval.
