I'm trying to close a case, but I get an error that a child is in the home. How do I fix this?
This error occurs for two reasons: either the Pre-Approval Placements page hasn't been completed, or there is an open placement in the home.
The Pre-Approval Placements page is not complete:
If the Pre-Approval Placements page hasn't been completed (indicated in the "Days since child placed" column in the Progress Panel):
- Navigate to the Pre-Approval Placements page via the group of buttons in the top right of the screen, or via Actions > Pre-Approval Placements.
- Answer the first question, then click Submit:

If you answered "no", you may proceed to the View / Change Application Status page and close the home. If you answered "yes", you will be prompted to answer more questions about the child and placement.
There is an open placement in the home:
- Navigate to the family's Applicant Data page.
- Scroll down to the Historical Child Placements Provided section (just below the Application History section).
- If the "Date Child Left Placement" column is blank, click "Edit" and add the date and reason the placement ended.
