Overview
Sometimes, the best placement match for a child is with a caregiver who doesn't speak English as their first language. Binti’s AI Translation Feature allows caregivers to complete their application forms in their preferred language, making the process more accessible to non-English speakers.
For Families
- Once a language is selected, all portal menus, stages, forms, and notifications will be displayed in the chosen language.
- Email notifications sent to caregivers and their references will also be translated into the selected language (by default, emails are sent in English until a language is selected).
For Workers
- Forms submitted in non-English languages are automatically translated into English.
- Access both the English translation and the original non-English version of forms completed by Caregivers on the Documents page.

How to Enable AI Translation
To use the translation feature, caregivers can select their preferred language during sign-up:
Once the application has been started, the language can be edited in the left side menu by clicking the "globe" icon:
Note: Changing the language while forms are in progress may sometimes cause errors. It's best to select your preferred language before starting the forms to ensure a smooth experience.
Feedback and Customization
Caregivers can provide feedback on translation accuracy by using the feedback button in the portal. Binti can also build a custom dictionary based on user feedback to ensure more precise translations where needed.
Benefits of the AI Translation Feature
- Accessibility: Caregivers can complete application forms in their native language, which can speed up the licensing process for families who do not speak English as a first language.
- Efficiency for Workers: Agency workers receive an automatic English translation of the caregiver's responses, while still having access to the original non-English version for reference.
- Enhanced Communication: Notifications and reminders are sent in the caregiver’s chosen language, improving clarity and reducing language barriers throughout the licensing process.
Requesting Additional Languages
Pilot users can request additional languages to be made available. We will do our best to accommodate these requests if our translation provider supports the requested language. We will communicate with pilot users when additional translation features become available.
