Why aren't requirements generating for a child?

Overview

This article explains why child requirements may not be automatically generating for a child and how to fix them.

The child isn't associated with a program

In order for requirements to automatically generate a child needs to be attached to a program. To verify this you can:

  1. In the top blue ribbon, click "Children & Youth" and select "Children & Youth" in the dropdown menu to go to the Children & Youth Dashboard.
  2. Search for the child using the filter button on the right, or scroll until you see their entry.
  3. On the far right, click "Actions" and select "Edit Child".
  4. From there click on the Edit Child Programs button at the top of the page.
  5. That will take you to the Programs for that child where you can add a new program or verify the program(s) the child is attached to.

The date the child joined the agency is incorrect.

Some requirements are generated based on the date the child joined the agency.

To edit the date a child joined the agency follow these steps:

  4. Scroll to the bottom and expand the Agency section by clicking on the plus sign.
  5. Verify that there is a date that the child joined the agency and if it is correct.

The placement date for the child is incorrect.

Some requirements are generated based on the date the child was placed.

To edit placement dates follow these steps:

  1. In the top blue ribbon, click "Children & Youth" and select "Children & Youth" in the dropdown menu to go to the Children & Youth Dashboard.
  2. Search for the child using the filter button on the right, or scroll until you see their entry.
  3. On the far right, click "Actions" and select "Edit Placement".
  4. Verify that the dates of the placement are correct.

Please note since different requirements can generate based on the start date of the program, date a child joined the agency, or the date that a placement starts or ends; and requirements will only generate up to 2 weeks in the past from the current date. If you have other requirements you need to add that are earlier than that timeframe you can generate ad hoc events for those by clicking on Requirements for that child then clicking ad hoc events.
